Superintendent Jodie Hausmann to become Superintendent in Bay Village

It is with a heavy heart I share with you news that I have accepted the position of Superintendent of Bay Village Schools beginning August 1, 2018. I am honored to have had the opportunity to lead Perkins Schools. I am proud of our accomplishments and the direction the district is heading. I value the relationships I’ve built here and I will miss the staff, students and families in this district. Perkins is a special place and I will always be thankful for my time here.

I am also thankful for the opportunity to become a part of the Bay Village community and to continue their tradition of excellence. The Bay Village opportunity will also allow me to be closer to my parents, something that is important to me at this stage in their lives.

In the past three years, we have accomplished important initiatives together. We passed the first new money levy in 17 years; adopted a new strategic plan called “The Perkins Promise” that will empower students to pursue their dreams and achieve success; and we’ve built a strong record of achievement by improving all failing Value Added scores to straight A’s and earning The ODE Momentum Award for two consecutive years. Working with administration and staff, we have also increased access to AP courses for underrepresented children, built pre-K-8 Career Connections pathways and piloted an innovative early literacy model.

I greatly appreciate the support of the Board of Education, both in our work together and in my new endeavor. I will assist the Board and district as needed to ensure a seamless transition to new leadership. I wish the schools and the community all the best in the future.

Until next time,

Jodie Hausmann
